We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Director of Learning Humanities who is dynamic, creative and ambitious.

The Director of Learning Humanities is a key post and an exciting one. We are looking for an exemplary leader to offer strategic direction, creative curriculum design and team co-construction to ensure the outcomes for all students are exceptional. 

Purpose:

  • To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the curriculum area and to monitor and support student progress.
  • To be accountable for student progress and development within the subject area.
  • To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others to create consistency of approach and excellence within the classroom.
  • To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the department, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies.
  • To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the subject/curriculum area.

The right candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant specialist qualifications and experience (e.g BSc in History or related degree)
  • Specialism in History
  • Ability to deliver high-quality Science lessons covering a range of modules and concepts
  • A good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for Science
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning to ensure all learners progress and achieve to a high standard in preparation for examinations
